So excited! Angelina has finally gone back to school! She was all smiles this morning heading out the door. It feels good to have a little bit of normal back! We have started antibody therapy and will be part of a clinical trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. We’re NOT out of the woods yet, but are certainly taking a step in the right direction. Love to everyone who has been so helpful and supportive during Angelina’s continued battle against cancer.

March 2015 – March 2016 can be summed up as this – Kid sends cancer into remission, kid breaks leg in freak circus accident, kid recovers. Kid graduates from Kindergarten. Kid relapses with cancer. Kid gets ass kicked by chemo. Kid reminds cancer that she may be only 6 but is a complete bad ass. Kid shows cancer that hair is overrated, and chemo is outdated and gets put into NEW human antibody clinical trial. #micdrop Needless to say – our prayers were answered. Antibody therapy here we come! Please don’t be confused….This is NOT remission – and we will not stop till we’re there. It’s a LONG road ahead. Chemo was just the first stepping stone to getting the cancer manageable. Now that it’s in check, we have to send in the calvary to do battle on a cellular level. Thank you for all your love, your prayers, and being with us. We should have a leap year more often! To learn more about antibody therapy, read this article http://ift.tt/1vT2aPd

After her scans last week, Her doctor’s wanted a closer more detailed look at the spots on her spine. These spots are spots she’s had from initial diagnosis. These spots were why we were denied continuation of her initial clinical trial. Praying that the more detailed scan reveals SCAR TISSUE. I would like to think if it were possible on any day, it would be on LEAP YEAR! That’s what we’re praying for! In the meantime, thank you so much to Reese’s Hair Pieces for her AMAZING knit bun for the beautiful bun wraps! And be sure to check out The Keep Collective fundraiser that is going on to help off set our continued (and seemingly never ending) medical bills. http://ift.tt/1OIkB1q Thank you as always for your love, your support, and your prayers. They mean the WORLD TO US. Almost 3 years our baby has been battling cancer – some breaks, some easier times, but always with a smile. That’s thanks to you!

I apologize that it’s been a while since I posted. I’ve been wanting to just take in and enjoy the holidays this year. It’s been a really rough year – 2015 was not very kind to us. Our Angelina relapsed, we lost out on our house, and we’re trying to get a handle on everything. We just received a call that Angelina still has active disease, and will be continuing chemo through the end of February. It’s hard news to take – especially since she’s been doing so well (physically, emotionally, etc). We were REALLY hoping that she was going to go back to school at the end of February, which now won’t be possible. But the good news is that there is a DRAMATIC improvement from the scans in July. We’re hoping that 2016 brings good news… But 2015 wasn’t all bad. We learned that we have AMAZING friends, and a wonderful family. In fact, we have friends who are now part of our family. A HUGE thank you and much love to Alicia Messer, Renee Aved, Deborah Marcus, Susan Gross, Rona Lotan, Ronni Brenner, Dr. Ilana, Audrey Bickel, Reese’s Hair Pieces, Paint Bayonne, Sara Bennet, Rosemarie Williams, Lori Lyons, John Cirasella, Rabbi Francine Roston, Rabbi Jesse Olitsky, Tomorrows Children’s Fund, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, The Bar Method Englewood, OUR AMAZING NURSES, and so many more who have been a light in a dark year. Wishing you all a wonderful New Year, and thinking of our friends who are fighting relapse with us (Team Augustine, Prestun Seibel journey kickin Neuroblastoma Butt) and so many more who were diagnosed this year. Wishing everyone better health, happiness and strength for the New Year ahead!
